Savage Brat
The Brat Style influence has made it's way into the StreetKORE garage. Although we decided to try it on an uncommon, and often overlooked base. The Suzuki Savage, AKA: LS650 or as it's been baged in recent years, the S40. The big single may be designed as an entry level cruiser, but there's much potential for a quick and easy custom. The tight frame, narrow front end and low slung seat lend themselves to an attractive profile. It's just a matter of digging through the mass of factory installed mess to get to it. We picked up the ...
ATL Streetfighter Bandit 1200
Another StreetKORE special hits the streets. The ATLStreetfighter Started as a box stock naked 2003 Bandit 1200. It's gone through a number of alterations over the past 3 years at the owners hands. The current state of build started in 2009 when I meet with the owner, and now good buddy, Eddy Houillon. Before it made it into StreetKORE hands, Eddy had a good start and idea as to where the project was headed. The stock gauges were replaced with a Trail Teck Vaypor, The factory handlebars were swaped ...
Project: XS650 Street Chopper
StreetKORE's 2nd XS650 project combines a number of influences that make up our KORE theories of Motorcycle building. Lean, Mean, Rugged, Fast machines. Like most of our bikes, the pieces just seem to fall into place through the course of the build. We don't build catalog bikes or over the top show pieces. These are garage built customs built for daily street use. The Street Chopper is no exception. The main focus of this bike is to build a sport oriented chopper. Function is the main goal with style as a byproduct. Using the ...
Project: XS650 StreetRACER
A new project is in the works here in the StreetKORE Garage. I've run out of catchy names at the moment and I don't want to put some obligatory classification on it that really doesn't fit. Frankly, I'm over that crap anyway. For now, it's being dubbed the StreetRacer. It's a little bit fighter, a little bit cafe, but mostly it's a whole bunch of cool wrapped up in something that used to resemble a Yamaha XS650. And that's good enough for now. Frame: '79 Yamaha XS650, Back halved, Braced, Monoshock conversion, ...
VTR1000
Sport Twins are really great street bikes. Even if they aren't the fastest thing on the road, the amount of grunt you get with minimal effort just makes them a blast for the tight windy back roads and congested city streets. StreetKORE's Super Chicken, VTR1000F, was another one of those odd ball projects that fell into place. I acquired the VTR in 2007 after a good friend had relocated to Japan. The bike was taken well care of over the years and had a number of performance tweaks already done to it. By the time it got to me though, it ...
Damage Control
The bike that started it all for StreetKORE. The base platform was acquired in the latter part of 2003. The overall condition of the bike was in sad shape. A wheeley gone bad had resulted in the bike running head first into a wall. The front end was tacoed, the plastics were trashed, but the engine and frame survived. In the beginning, the plan was just to get it rideable again. I had some spare parts laying around the garage, some steel tubing and a garage full of tools. During a hurricane filled weekend I got to work. The ...
